During the opening of Annika Larsson’s solo exhibition “The Discourse of the Drinkers” on July 5, 2019, “The Ex Wives of Neukölln”, a team comprising of past, present, future, and never members of Berlin trash-drag collective “The Real Housewives of Neukölln”, presented an installation and performance at Kunstverein’s Bar Putti, continuing on their work with Annika Larsson and her film “The Discourse of the Drinkers”. Functioning simultaneously as a reinterpretation, sequel, and something else entirely different of their collaboration with Larsson, viewers were presented with an irreverent, post-modern, post-gender cabaret dealing with such themes as gender identity, night life, sexual politics, environmental protection policy, and true love.
The evening was a Take-Over of “Bar Putti”, a station bar within the Kunstverein designed by Pablo Schlumberger in early 2019.
